Markov, Cuff, and Wattz
Founded in 1922 by prominent Private Investigator Marcus Cuff, with funding and assistance by Dr. Gerald Markov, the firm has established itself over the past 80-odd years as leading experts in securing valuables, and retrieving them, in the case of their loss. In the late 1960’s a third partner group joined the firm’s masthead, when Cuff and Markov absorbed the research firm, Wattz and Associates (founded by the twin daughters of Thomas J Watson) into their operating staff.
Though a vast amount of the firm’s clients are private, they occasionally take contracts from Museums and Galleries, looking to secure priceless pieces on exhibition in their halls. The firm has no public records aside from its incorproation papers, but is rumored to be very small, but incredibly profitable and influential. This is likely thanks to the clientele who engage them to protect priceless works, combined with the firm’s spotless record.
